The Smart Innovative Operations (SIO) centre was designed to showcase Air Liquide's technical capabilities and service offerings. As the company's centre of excellence, the SIO was designed to reflect Air Liquide's propensity for innovation, security, and collaboration. The focus on both form and function as well as an emphasis on ergonomics underpins the open-concept workspace here, where intelligent remote operations are conducted efficiently.
 
The interior design realises a sense of fluidity that links each activity space for optimum productivity. It is enhanced with creative use of lighting, as evidenced in the use of a dimmable LED light membrane ceiling to meet different lux requirements at different times of the day in the Command Area. Despite the space constraints, we are able to fully-integrate IT systems and video teleconferencing capabilities, which are crucial to the success of this smart office. These technologies are also used to present the company's service offerings throughout its Southeast Asia Pacific network in a dedicated client presentation area. At the flick of a switch, a smart glass wall becomes transparent, giving potential clients the ability to view the Command Area and its operations video wall.
